Chevening Scholarships

I. Gates Cambridge Scholarships
Gates Cambridge Scholarships are awarded to outstanding applicants from any country outside the UK to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge. A Gates Cambridge Scholarship covers the full cost of studying at Cambridge. It also provides additional, discretionary funding.

II. Rhodes Scholarships at University of Oxford
Established in the will of Cecil Rhodes in 1902, the Rhodes is the oldest and perhaps the most prestigious international scholarship program in the world.   The Rhodes Scholarships are postgraduate awards that supports exceptional international students from selected countries at the University of Oxford.   A Rhodes Scholarship covers all university fees, personal stipend, health insurance, and airfare to and from the student’s home country.

III. Edinburgh Global Research Scholarships
The University of Edinburgh will offer 30 scholarships to outstanding overseas students who intends to pursue a PhD Research Programme in any field of study offered by the University. Each scholarship covers the difference between the tuition fee for a UK/EU graduate student and that chargeable to an overseas graduate student. The awards do not cover maintenance expenses.

IV. Denys Holland Scholarship at University College London 
The Denys Holland Scholarship aims to support undergraduate students from any country, who without the support of  the scholarship would be unable to secure the funding required to study at University College London (UCL), and who can demonstrate their intention to make full use of the activities offered by UCL and the Student Union.  The scholarship is worth £9,000 per annum and scholars may choose to use all or part of the scholarship to cover fees.

V. University of Sussex Chancellor’s International Scholarships 
University of Sussex Chancellor’s International Scholarships are available in the majority of Sussex Schools, and are awarded on the basis of academic performance and potential to non-EU international students who have applied for and been offered a place for eligible full-time Postgraduate Taught degrees at the University of Sussex.  The scholarship is 50% off international student tuition fee and is offered for one year.

VI. Bristol University International Office Scholarships
The University of Bristol is offering five International Office Scholarships for new international students who wish to pursue an undergraduate degree at the University.  The scholarships are worth £8,500 which can go towards your tuition fee.

VII. University of West London International Ambassador Scholarships
The International Ambassador Scholarship recognizes and provides financial support for outstanding students who wish to pursue a full time undergraduate or postgraduate degree at University of West London. The scholars will act as international ambassadors for the University of West London.  Up to 50 scholarships worth up to £5,000 are available.

VIII. University of West England Chancellor’s Scholarships
The University of the West of England, Bristol offers more than £100,000 worth of scholarships for international students each year.  This includes the Chancellor’s Scholarship wherein the recipient will be required to undertake an internship working within the International Development Office and other departments. The scholarship covers the full tuition fees for one academic year.

IX. Sheffield Hallam University Transform Together Scholarships
Transform Together scholarships are open to international and European Union (non UK) students applying to study a full-time postgraduate or undergraduate taught course at Sheffield Hallam University. Half fee waiver (50%) is available for postgraduate courses and for each year of an undergraduate degree.

X. University of Westminster International Scholarships
University of Westminster awards scholarships to eligible students from any developing country who wish to study in the UK and pursue a full-time Masters degree in any field of study at the University of Westminster.  The scholarship awards full tuition fee waivers, accommodation, living expenses and flights to and from London.

XI. Warwick Chancellor’s International Scholarships
The Warwick Graduate School awards around 25 Chancellor’s International Scholarships to the most outstanding international PhD applicants yearly. The scholarships are open to students of any nationality and to any discipline offered at Warwick.  The scholarships include the full payment of overseas tuition fee and a maintenance stipend.

XII. Developing Solutions Scholarships at University of Nottingham
The Developing Solutions Scholarships are designed for international students from Africa, India or one of the developing countries of the Commonwealth who want to study a Masters Degree at the University of Nottingham and make a difference to the development of their home country. Each year,  105 scholarships  are awarded– 30 scholarships will cover the full tuition fee while 75 will cover 50% of the tuition fee.

XIII. University of Bradford Global Development Scholarships 
The University of Bradford Global Development Scholarships (formerly known as Countries in Crisis Scholarships) are intended to aid students in financial hardship due to the fact that they are domiciled in a country that is in crisis as a result of the political situation, war, natural disaster etc. Each scholarship is worth approximately £25,000 which includes full tuition fees and accommodation plus £4,200 per annum living costs.

The RWTH International Academy

The Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology is offering PREBIST PhD Fellowship Program. REBIST fellows will receive scientific training and take part in programs that aim at developing leadership skills, offering opportunities to assume responsibility and tools to be active in own career progression.The Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) is a scientific initiative of seven of Catalonia’s research centres of excellence whose objective is to increase their levels of collaboration in order to build together a joint scientific project.All international applicants for whom English is not the native tongue must provide proof of competence in the English language.

  • Having not spent more than 12 months of the prior 36 months in Spain, at the time of the call deadline. You will be required to confirm your compliance through a self-declaration.
  • Hold a University degree (by the time of enrollment in the PhD program) that would qualify the applicant to enter one of the Ph.D. programmes recognized by the BIST research centers. These have formal agreements with the major Catalan Universities (UB, UAB, UPC, URV, and UPF) whereby BIST senior researchers (generally of professorial rank and enjoying international recognition) are accredited to supervise Ph.D. students, who do their research at BIST research centers and obtain their degree from the corresponding university. Please provide evidence when you apply (e.g. scanned copy of your degree or similar).
  • At the time of the call deadline, be in the first 4 years of your scientific post gradual career (full-time equivalent research experience). In case your University degree was longer ago than 4 years, you will need to provide documental evidence for complying with these criteria.

Scholarship Foundation of the Republic of Austria is offering scholarships for undergraduates, graduates and postgraduates. Scholarships are awarded in the field of Natural Sciences, Technical Sciences, Human Medicine, Health Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts.The OeAD is the Austrian agency for international mobility and cooperation in education, science and research.

The candidate should have a very good command of English language. Therefore, the application should be written in English.

Scholarship Description:

Scholarship Award: The quota depends on the budget:

  • Monthly scholarship instalment: 1.050 EUR
  • Health insurance: OeAD scholarship holders need to have health insurance that is accepted by the Austrian authorities for the duration of their stay in Austria. The OeAD can help with taking out such insurance. The monthly costs can vary, at the moment you should calculate 55 to 200 EUR (depending on your age, scholarship category and state of health). The costs for the insurance have to be covered from the scholarship.
  • Accomodation: It is possible for OeAD scholarship holders to book accomodation (dormitory or apartment) with the OeAD Housing Office.The monthly costs are 220 to 470 EUR (depending on the level of comfort requested by the scholarship holder). The scholarship holder has to pay an administrative fee of 18 EUR/month to the OeAD Housing Office for the provision of accommodation. The costs for the accommodation have to be covered from the scholarship.
  • Travel Costs: Applicants from countries which are neither members of the EU nor members of EFTA, EEA or OECD can be granted a travel allowance. The lump sum depends on the country of origin.

  • Descendents of forced labourers (regardless of their country of origin)

ERASMUS Mundus is inviting applications for EMARO+ scholarships for 2018 intake.  EMARO, European Master on Advanced Robotics Plus, is an integrated Masters course open for both non-European and European students.

EMARO and EMARO+ have been designed and accepted in the framework of the European Union ERASMUS-MUNDUS programme. The Erasmus Mundus programme is a cooperation and mobility programme of the European Union in the field of higher education which promotes the European Union as a center of excellence in learning around the world.

It aims to enhance quality in European higher education and to promote intercultural understanding through co-operation with third countries.

  2. Cambridge Advanced English Test (score B or higher),
  3. IELTS (score 6.5 or higher),
  4. TOEIC (800).

No other test is recognized. Applicants who carried out their studies in English (official confirmation letter from their university is needed) are eligible without providing such a test, but providing the results of a recognized international test can add value to their application

Eligibility for the Scholarship: 

Eligible Countries: Students from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland are eligible to apply for this scholarship programme.

Entrance Requirements: The Kristianstad University Scholarship is completely merit-based. The assessment of scholarship applications is made on the basis of the merits and documents sent to Universityadmissions.se when applying for a programme. NB. Merits and documents registered after the 1 February 2017 will not be taken into consideration.

You are not eligible for a Kristianstad University Scholarship if you have not paid the application fee to Universityadmissons.se for the programme you wish to study.

Priority will be given to students who:

  • applied in the first instance to Kristianstad University and on time in accordance with the national admission round
  • have Kristianstad University as their first choice
  • have studied at Bachelor’s level at Kristianstad University and are applying for Master programmes
  • have excellent study merits and good proficiency in English

Applications that are not filled in correctly will not be taken into consideration.

No consideration is taken of the students’ financial needs in the selection process.

­Applications are invited for Erasmus Mundus International Master program in Material Science for EU and Non-EU students. The master’s program is organized in 4 semesters, over 2 years. All courses within the partner universities will be taught in English. Mamaself students must take a total value of 120 ECTS credits over the 4 semesters to fulfil the requirements of the Master.Erasmus Mundus offers culturally enriching higher education opportunities for both European and Non-European students. The Erasmus Mundus program is a co-operation and mobility programme in the field of higher education building in the framework of the Erasmus+ program. It aims to enhance quality in European higher education and to promote intercultural understanding through co-operation with third countries.

Applicants must provide the Bachelor degree (with certified translation in English). Students who are in their Bachelor year will show a certificate of registration in the third Bachelor year instead of the diploma and will show the diploma during next summer.

Eligible Countries: EU and Non-EU students are eligible to apply. Students from all countries can apply to the Erasmus Mundus master programme.

Entrance Requirements: Students must have

  • A Bachelor (180 ECTS) in Materials Science or related disciplines: Chemistry, Physics, Geoscience,
  • Proof of good English competencies, e.g.  TOEFL  CBT 230 and PBT  550 IBT 80 / IELTS 6.5 or equivalent, except for applicants native from English speaking countries and for students having been educated in English at secondary or/and university. Students who intend to have mobility at TUM must have the following level of admission at TUM: TOEFL IBT 88, CBT 234/ PBT 605.

English Language Requirements: All applicants are required to prove their proficiency in the English language. Applicants can prove proficiency in English by meeting one of the following conditions before enrolling:

  • English as a native language
  • TOEFL – Minimum score: 230 (computer based), 80 (internet based), or 550 (paper-based)
  • IELTS – Minimum score: 6.5
  • Cambridge ESOL, Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) – Minimum score: C

  • Applicants would be expected to start their studies in September 2018 with some flexibility possible dependent on the project.
  • Recipients are expected to commit to engagement beyond their doctoral studies through examples of public engagement, accessing skills development training and opportunities, career development etc. Continued funding would be dependent on satisfactory evidence of this engagement has taken place.

This award is only open to applicants whose fee status is classed as International. Therefore this award is not open to Home or EU students.
